It's mid week after Spring Break...it's been a killer week as far as getting back into the routine of things and getting up early to go back to work, not to relax, drink coffee and read emails at my leisure! The week has been good...started watching what I eat, as in healthier things. Today, I start exercising! Yep, you heard it right, starting Zumba tonight, let's hope it doesn't kill me...we will see...need to get this body moving again...years ago I used to walk 2-3 miles a day...I was younger and had more energy then too!
And, the big 55 is coming up in a few days....my body is feeling 55 as of late also....I'll keep ya posted on progress!

Spring Break has begun!
Well, two days of Spring Break 2013 has been completed...with a few things knocked off of the To Do list! James has painted the upstairs bath, the other guest room. I've gotten some flowers planted. We've already spent quaulity time with Home Depot and Lowe's!
The quilt that you are looking at in the picture is called "Rectangles and Triangles", pattern by Eleanor Burns. This quilt was made especially for my new baby grandaughter, Cadence Elizabeth, born on March 6th, weighing in at 8lbs., 13 oz. Here is a precious picture of her....
Isn't she just beautiful....she is the fourth child of my youngest son, Chase, that lives in Colorado....it's gonna be a little while before I actually get to see her in person.
At any rate, I am up early this morning, couldn't sleep, why is that, when you don't have to get up, you always do...now mind you, I'm not saying that I might go back to bed! lol
James has a Chiropractic appt. this morning, and I really need to run over to Walmart...it's gonna be another busy day. James' lovely sister Terry is flying in from California today, not quite sure what time...standby on Spring Break could be tricky!
Lots to do today....what shall I remove off of my long list...cleaning up the house a little more would probably be good...a little activity in the sewing room would be better! Might run over to Hobby Lobby, in need of some batting, have another little quilt top I need to put on Ms. Fondue (for those of you that don't know who she is, she is my quilting system).
Then there are the blocks that I am behind for the Flow Zone BOM...gotta get those finished.... sooooo......we are doing things around here for the next couple of days, then Wednesday heading out to the country to see Momma...and to load up a bedroom suite....and would really love to bring my patio table and chairs into town...we may end up looking like the Beverly Hillbillies on the way back, we'll see....
Time to do a few more things....ya'll have an awesome day!

Another Saturday Night!
It's been a pretty good day today! As you can see in the picture that I've posted, it's always a great day when Mr. Walker is around!
Finally felt like getting this house straightened up after being sick with the flu...still a little stuffed up (me, not the house), but it's getting better every day!
I have been on a mission and a hunt about a little thing called "Thermal Thimbles", they are to put on the tips of your fingers when you are pressing quilt blocks, etc...anyone who has done this knows that the tips of your fingers tend to get a little toasty or even burned....after looking the for the second time at Joann's, I found them, off all places in the iron and ironing board department, duh! I haven't used them yet, but I will tomorrow! Also ended up picking up some fabric (me, really, not go to Joann's and buy at least one piece of fabric)! And, note to all, Joann's will only let you use 4 coupons at checkout...I was pulling coupons off of my circular and phone...hey, but I did save quite a few bucks!
Had dinner with James' folks tonight, haven't seen them in a few weeks, it was nice. Of coarse, we have leftover's we brought home for lunch tomorrow...
Went to bed early, and hence, I'm up, can't sleep, so...here I am, decided to throw in a post on my blog.
I am a member of the Flow Zone Block of the Month club...and February is my month to pick out a block, it will be forthcoming before tomorrow afternoon, I have narrowed it down to four blocks...gotta choose one! This has been so fun so far, sharing blocks and tips and techniques with my friends! Tomorrow I have to get a quilt loaded onto Ms. Fondue (my quilting system)...gotta start working out the kinks, cause I have lots of finished quilt tops that I have to get finished! Sure do need a quilt ladder to display those quilts on....hint, hint, anyone?!
Guess I better close this one out tonight...take care and nighty night ya'll!

I just realized that I wrote my first entry to this blog a few days before my dear husband David passed away unexpectantly of a heart attack. My life took a very drastic nose dive after that day!
I wasn't sure how I would survive without him in my life, even though he was constantly in my heart and still is....boy has my life changed!
I spent my first year without David struggling over every little thing. The place in the country, the hard winter that approached and trying to do everything myself, just to prove that I could I think, and to keep myself so busy that I couldn't think much. Yet, night time would fall each night, and the tears and lonliness came, I was alone. I went from one extreme to the next of wondering what was to become of me.
Well, as time went on, I picked myself up, dusted myself off and decided to join the living again so to speak. I decided that there was a life out there somewhere for me and that God had a plan. But, you see, God does things in His own way, in His own time. Eventually, I met a very nice gentleman named James Walker. James and I are the same age, and we figured out that we had a lot in common...we started dating. James has taken me places and shown me new things that I had never seen or tried. We grew closer and closer.
As time would have it, we have been together for over a year now, and I have left the country, and moved into town (Cedar Park) with James. It's very different living in town....still miss my country life some, especially the sunsets. So, my dear niece Ashly and her little family moved into my house in the country, and it's great that her two children are getting to enjoy country life out there....we do go out often and I still have quite a bit of stuff out there, that eventually needs to get moved here.
Life is good! The Lord has blessed me with two great men in my life, first David and now James. I thank Him everyday. I am so happy, and my sewing and quilting has started up again...life is almost complete!
So, this is the end of my update of my two year stretch of not posting...maybe I'll get better at this! :)

About 6 years ago, we moved to our property in the beautiful Hill Country in Central Texas. We have done alot of improvements on the place, but still there is always something to do. We have added chickens to our critters. We did have goats out back, but with the drought, we had to sell them. Just nothing left for them to eat. We have our little Rat Terrier named Aggie, our Australian Shepherd named Scoot and our big ol' indoor black cat named Ink. Plus a few barn/shop kitties on the property. All of these animals give us so much pleasure and lots of laughter. Seems we are always laughing or smiling!
This is my first blog, folks told me that I should start one because of all the weird/funny things that happen sometimes on a daily basis. So, here we go.....
I will try to keep this updated as best I can.
